Who will lead us as the CA State Superintendent of Public Instruction?

As we approach the final days of this very important campaign here is my personal endorsement and challenge:

As a public school teacher who sees the need for change I’m voting for Marshall Tuck.Under his leadership, some of the most chronically underperforming public schools in California increased graduation rates by 60 percent, and he helped open new high schools in Inglewood and Watts that are now ranked among the best public schools in the country. These are the kind of results California’s kids need and deserve.

President Obama’s Education Secretary Arne Duncan (who endorsed Tuck) knew what he was talking about this past summer when he said:

“It’s also no surprise that [Tuck’s opponents] are putting out misinformation about Tuck because [they] can’t beat him with the truth. They can’t attack Tuck’s record in improving education for children, so they must make things up. For example, it is a lie when they suggest that Tuck is aligned with Donald Trump and Betsy DeVos.”

Make up your own mind – listen to the candidates articulate their plans and visions.

Lisa Gonzales, Association of California School Administrators (ACSA), interviews State Superintendent of Public Instruction candidates Marshall Tuck & Tony Thurmond at the ACSA Leadership Assembly.

Outcome: “Tuck’s vision for California schools is consistent with ACSA’s commitment to putting the interests of students above all,” said ACSA President Dr. Lisa Gonzales. “Every one of his guiding principles maintains the objective of prioritizing California students.”
